Impact Report 2024: Summary
We are delighted to be celebrating a decade of measuring and reporting impact. Initially, the focus was on measuring the carbon footprint and other risk-related metrics of companies and portfolios. Over the years, the landscape has evolved to include solutions, opportunities and impact.
Impax has developed detailed classification systems or taxonomies to identify activities and companies providing environmental and social solutions. The report highlights the
report highlights the importance of environmental impact metrics, like GHG avoidance, water, materials and renewable energy generation, alongside metrics for social impact, such as access to healthcare, finance and digital infrastructure.
Impax has always sought to be conservative in its approach and to evolve our reporting for improved transparency. External assurance has been provided on our methodology, data and calculations for every Impact Report published since 2015.
The report also describes Impax's journey to impact in a 'theory of change' framework. Earlier this year, Impax published its first Climate Report, aligned with the TCFD-framework. Moving forward, Impax will continue linking environmental market solutions to alleviating pressures on nature and biodiversity loss and establishing impact metrics for nature-based solutions. There is a strategic focus on expanding resources and investments within fixed income, including impact bonds.
